What is a scope?

A scope allows you to select which of the applications an applicant has attached to his or her user profile. The scope you select will need to align with the export segment you are running in order to populate application data in your file.

For example, You can build two segments on Undergraduate Applications and Graduate Applications, however each of those segments will need to be exported separately in order to define which Application Major, Term, Campus, or other app related values you want to view.

Most of the application-related fields will require a scope to be selected on them.  Application Status, Major, Term, and Campus are the primary ones. Once you have your fields added you can select which application you'll want after clicking the gear button on the right side of the screen:

Remember that all of your scopes must match on an export. You are not able to select a different scope for each field.
