Overview

This article explores how Bolt Discovery is a powerful information hub in diverse scenarios. These examples highlight Bolt Discovery’s adaptability in streamlining access to essential information.

As the curator of knowledge, you can tailor Bolt Discovery to meet your institution’s specific needs, making it easier for students to access crucial information throughout their educational journey.

Below, you will find several examples to explore. You can click on the images to enlarge them for a closer look (they will open in a new tab).

Example 1: Website Embed

The marketing department at Element University has been receiving complaints about their visitors being able to find content on the website.

With no budget to overhaul the site architecture and recognizing the limitations of their site search tool, they opt for a quick (and better) solution by embedding Bolt Discovery. Thanks to their existing Element451 tracking pixel, they integrate Bolt Discovery into their website within minutes, enabling users to easily search and access relevant information.

Example 2a: Program Exploration

A student planning on attending Element University is exploring different degree options and is leaning toward nursing, but they’re not 100% sure yet.

They visit your nursing program webpage to gather more information and click the “Learn More” button linked to Bolt Discovery's URL with a predefined query. Instantly, Bolt Discovery opens, and the predefined query, "I'm interested in nursing. What classes would I take my first year?" is sent.

As the student reviews the information, a follow-up question about potential nursing careers catches her eye. With her future career at the top of her mind, she clicks on it to discover more, eager to see how this degree could shape her professional path.

Example 2b

Using the same scenario, you could also include that link in a Campaign sent to prospective students who have an intended major of nursing. Here is the flow in action:

Example 3: Curated FAQ Thread

The housing director at Element University is receiving numerous questions about moving in next month.

To address this, they use Bolt Discovery to create a housing multi-question thread to include in an email to all incoming residents. When students engage with the thread, a separate, private thread is generated for their follow-up queries.

Example 4: Multilingual Support

An international student and her mother are exploring Element University online. While the student is comfortable with English, her mother only speaks and reads Spanish.

To ensure her mom can follow along, they use Bolt Discovery to ask questions in Spanish. Instantly, Bolt Discovery provides the answers in Spanish, making it easy for her mom to understand and engage with the information.

Example 5: IT Support

The IT department at Element University has noticed a spike in support tickets related to resetting passwords for the student portal.

To reduce these inquiries, they add help text on the login page: “Having trouble logging in? Click here.” This text links directly to a Bolt Discovery thread answering the question, “How do I reset my password?” making it easy for students to resolve the issue independently.

Additional Ways to Use Bolt Discovery
