Overview
Bulk deleting contacts in Element451 is a quick and efficient way to clean up your data or remove large groups of contacts at once. Whether you’re clearing out test users or deleting contacts created in error during an import, this feature makes the process simple and secure.
You must have the “Delete All Users in Segment” individual permission to bulk delete contacts. We recommend being selective when granting users this permission.
Deleting contacts by segment is permanent and cannot be undone by you or the Element451 team.
Steps to Bulk Delete Contacts
Go to Contacts > People from the main menu.
Create a Segment: Use the available filters to segment the contacts you wish to delete. For detailed instructions on how to create a segment, check out this article.
Be thorough when setting your filters to ensure you select the correct contacts for deletion.
Save Your Segment: After applying your filters, save the segment with a clear name to quickly identify it later. You will be required to type the segment's name to confirm the deletion action.
Navigate to Contacts > Segments.
Locate your newly created segment, which should appear at the top of the list.
At the end of the row where your segment is listed, click the three vertical dots (⋮).
From the menu, click Delete Contacts in Segment.
To avoid accidental deletions, you’ll be prompted to confirm two things:
The segment’s name.
The total number of contacts in the segment.
Once you’ve reviewed everything, click Confirm to delete the contacts in the segment permanently.
