Overview

A segment is a cluster of users who share common characteristics, be it demographics or academic interests. Their interactions with Element451 modules, like clicking links in emails, can further refine these segments.

This powerful tool offers an incredible understanding of suspects, prospects, applicants, admits, and enrolled students. Strategic segmentation facilitates the seamless personalization of communications and Element451 functions. This tailored approach caters precisely to the unique needs and preferences of each individual, ensuring a more effective and targeted engagement strategy.

To get started with segments, navigate to Contacts > Segments.

Creating Segments

Segments come to life through filters (explore filters here). Whether it's identifying "people who have submitted an application" or delving into specifics like "individuals who have completed, but not submitted, an application for a certain term within a defined period," the flexibility of segments empowers your school's personalized approach.

Calculated Segments

When a segment is set to be calculated, student records automatically add or remove themselves based on criteria.

Using Segments

Element451 users most frequently utilize segments to tailor communications and content to a specific group of people or to pull data about different groups.
