We’ve introduced an AI-powered compliance checker for SMS messages sent from the Conversations module. This feature helps prevent spam and phishing messages by reviewing content before sending. Expansion to Campaigns is planned for the future.
AI Content Review + SHAFT Detection: AI automatically evaluates outbound SMS messages for potential spam, possible phishing attempts, or SHAFT¹ (Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco) content before sending.
Flagging + Blocking: If a message is identified as potentially containing SHAFT content, it is blocked to protect you and Element451 from restrictions imposed by carriers. In these cases, a warning icon will appear, and “Not Delivered” will be displayed in bold under the message. If the message is deemed compliant, it is sent as usual.
This update enhances security and compliance by preventing inappropriate, spam, and phishing messages from being sent, reducing the risk of account restrictions and potential fines for non-compliance with regulatory requirements.

¹SHAFT is an acronym used in messaging compliance to refer to content related to Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco. If a message includes SHAFT content, it may be flagged, blocked, or result in restrictions from messaging providers like Twilio, which is used by Element451 and/or mobile carriers. This is especially important for SMS and WhatsApp messaging, where carriers enforce strict content policies to prevent spam, fraud, and inappropriate communication.
