Released: March 12, 2025
New partners can now self-register their institution with Element451’s text message provider, a requirement for sending text campaigns through the platform.
This change applies only to partners who joined on or after February 24, 2025. If your institution already uses SMS/MMS in Element451, you’re all set—no action is needed, and your service remains unchanged.
Text Message Registration Self-Service
Getting started with text messaging in Element451 is now easier and faster. New partners can self-register their institution with Element451’s text message provider directly within the platform.
New Self-Service Registration Portal: Available in Settings > General > A2P Campaign Registration, this portal lets you quickly complete the required registration.
Why is this required? Before sending SMS/MMS messages in Conversations and Campaigns, your institution must complete an A2P 10DLC registration. This ensures your messages comply with carrier regulations and reach recipients without issues.
Does This Impact Me?
Existing Partners (Joined Before 2/24/25): No action needed! If your institution was using SMS/MMS before February 24, 2025, your registration is already complete. You can check your status in the new self-service portal, but your service remains unchanged.
A display issue may show a “Not Submitted” status for SHAKEN/STIR, CNAM, and Voice Integrity registrations for some existing partners. This is only a visual bug, not affecting the actual status. We are currently working to resolve these individually. All current partners have completed registrations.
New Partners (Joined On or After 2/24/25): Before sending SMS/MMS messages, you must complete your A2P 10DLC registration in Element451. This process ensures your messages are delivered reliably and comply with carrier rules.
What is A2P 10DLC?
A2P (Application-to-Person): A messaging format where messages are sent from an application (like Element451) to a person's mobile device.
10DLC (10-Digit Long Code): A standard 10-digit phone number registered with mobile carriers for business messaging at higher volumes.
Regulatory Requirement: Mobile carriers require this registration to ensure compliance and prevent spam, improving the deliverability of your messages.
This self-service registration simplifies the onboarding process for new partners by providing a direct, in-platform method to complete the required A2P 10DLC registration. By streamlining this compliance step, new partners can get started communicating with students faster than ever before.
