Overview

General Settings stores information about your institution to personalize communications.

πŸš€ In December 2024, we will migrate General Settings to the latest Bolt UI. In addition to increased speed and performance, it's the foundation of bringing together all settings from various areas of Element451 into one centralized location. Throughout early 2024, we'll continue to co-locate these settings into this easy-to-use updated format.

Accessing General Settings

You can find the general section of your global settings by navigating to your profile picture in the top right corner of the orange navigation menu and then clicking Settings > General.

Branding

Manage your school's branding (colors, logos, and fonts).

πŸ–Ό Recommended Image Sizes:

  • Logos: 200-300px wide

  • Favicons: 200-300px wide

When changes are made here, your Packs Content Tokens (Data + Automation > Packs > Packs Content Tokens) are also updated, and vice versa.

Campaign Tokens

Tokens managed under General Settings are no longer supported and remain available only for legacy features. Additionally, these tokens are not used in Packs. Instead, Packs Content Tokens are managed separately within their respective settings.

Discount Codes

Discount Codes allow discounts, promotions, and waivers to be applied to any payment collected within Element451, including Applications, Deposits, Events, and Forms. Whether you're looking to incentivize early applications, reward event attendees, or promote specific programs, discount codes offer a flexible and effective way to manage your pricing strategies.

Images

Manage your school's images used in Packs Content Tokens.

πŸ–Ό Recommended Image Sizes: The ideal dimension for your image is a width of 600 pixels; height can vary as required.

When changes are made here, your Packs Content Tokens (Data + Automation > Packs > Packs Content Tokens) are also updated, and vice versa.

Payment Rules

Payment Rules are conditions that activate dynamic pricing for the Conditional Payment Type. Check out the Payment Rules article to learn how to create, manage, and apply these rules to adjust pricing based on conditions.

Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

  • Show Privacy Policy Footer Link: Add your Privacy Policy link to the footer in Applications, Events, and Pages.

  • Cookie Acceptance Message: Add a cookie acceptance message in Applications, Events, and Pages.

Internal User Login Acknowledgment

The Internal User Login Acknowledgment feature allows you to display a custom message that internal users must acknowledge before logging into the system. This is ideal for sharing compliance notices, internal policies, or terms of use that require confirmation prior to access.

The acknowledgment modal appears on the Element451 login page for your instance. Once acknowledged, the message will not appear again unless:

  • The Disclaimer Message is updated or changed.

  • The user clears their browser cache.

Settings

  • Show Internal Login Acknowledgment: A slide toggle to enable or disable the acknowledgment modal.

  • Disclaimer Message: The text displayed in the pop-up modal communicates the terms or policies requiring acknowledgment.

    • Example: By logging in, you agree to comply with all Element University policies, including FERPA guidelines for student data privacy, security protocols, and acceptable use standards. Unauthorized access or misuse of student information may result in disciplinary action.

  • Updated At: A timestamp that indicates when the acknowledgment message was last updated. This helps internal users verify the recency of the message.

School Settings

Manage and configure the following information for your institution:

  • School name

  • Google Tag Manager Container ID

  • Timezone

  • School Quick Facts

  • Social Media Details

πŸ“™ Note: When changes are made here, your Packs Content Tokens (Data + Automation > Packs > Packs Content Tokens) are also updated, and vice versa.

Sender Domain Authentication

Sender Domain Authentication is a self-service tool that allows you to add domains for sending emails from Element451 and viewing the current configuration.

By authenticating your domains, it tells email servers that emails from Element451 are truly from you and improves email deliverability and security.

How-To: Add a Domain

  1. Navigate to Settings > General > Sender Domain Authentication

  2. Click the Add Sender Domain button

  3. Enter your domain name and click Add

  4. Once you have added the domain, you will see it on the settings page.

    • Please be aware that the Data column contains the necessary information for you to use during the setup process. The only live data that will be displayed on this screen is the Status column, which will show a green check mark once it has been configured correctly.

  5. If you are not the domain administrator or who will complete this the configuration, click the Send Instructions button to email the configuration requirements to someone else. Below is a screenshot of the email and instructions they will receive.

For additional support, consult the Troubleshooting Sender Authentication documentation.

DMARC

  • As of Feb 1, 2024, Google and Yahoo domains also require DMARC records.

  • "v=DMARC1; p=none" is the simplest policy that meets the Google/Yahoo standards. However, your organization may have stricter requirements. Please take a look at this guide to implementing DMARC for more details.

Sender Email Addresses

Manage the email addresses you use as your "send from" email when communicating with students in Campaigns. Learn more about creating an email campaign.

Email addresses must be ALL LOWERCASE.

SFTP Management

A self-service tool that enables you to create and manage your SFTP accounts directly from within Element451.
