Announced: April 16, 2026
We’re rolling out an important update to how visibility groups apply across Tasks, Appointments, and Events.
Going forward, visibility groups will be enforced more consistently across these areas. This means that if a task, appointment, or event registration is associated with a contact that a user does not have permission to view, the user will also not be able to see that associated task, appointment, or registration.
There are a few limited exceptions—for example, task assignees and subscribers, as well as appointment owners, will still retain access to those related items.
We will begin this rollout with Tasks on or about April 22, with Appointments and Events to follow in upcoming releases.
If your team uses visibility groups to restrict access to contacts, now is a good time to review those settings to ensure users will continue to have access to the contacts, tasks and appointments they need to do their work.
