We’re aware of the recent security incident involving Instructure’s Canvas LMS platform and the associated ransomware/extortion activity reported in May 2026. Public reporting indicates the incident affected Canvas infrastructure and potentially exposed certain Canvas-hosted user data.
Element451’s Canvas integration is architected as a read-only, one-way integration from Canvas into Element451. Canvas does not have access to Element451 systems, databases, or customer data through this integration. There is no bidirectional sync that would allow Canvas-originated access into Element451 infrastructure.
Element451 systems or customer environments through our integration architecture.
We continue to monitor the situation closely and follow security best practices across all third-party integrations.
Beyond the Canvas integration itself, Element451 maintains a broader security and compliance program designed to protect customer data. For more visit element451.com.
