Coming Soon: Originally scheduled for January 15, 2025, this update has been pushed to full enforcement on January 29, 2024.

Overview

To enhance the security of your institution’s data, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will now required for all internal users logging in with the Element451-provided email and password (effective January 29th). This update ensures a more secure and reliable authentication process, protecting against unauthorized access.

We strongly encourage enabling MFA prior to January 15 to ensure a smooth transition for your team.

This change does not affect external users (students) or users logging in with SSO or Google.

Details

  • MFA is now required for internal users logging in with the Element451-provided credentials (email + password). Disabling MFA is no longer an option.

  • Administrators can enable MFA before the release date to prepare their teams and avoid disruptions.

  • MFA remains optional for external users (students) who log in using the Element451-provided credentials.

  • While this update does not affect users logging in with SSO or Google, we recommend verifying that MFA is enabled through your SSO provider or Google Workspace to ensure secure access.

Benefit

This update strengthens data security for internal users, reducing the risk of unauthorized access and protecting your institution’s sensitive information. By encouraging secure login practices across all authentication methods, your platform is better equipped to safeguard user data and maintain compliance with security best practices.
