We will soon introduce a usage-based pricing model for select features, giving you greater flexibility and self-service options. This upcoming change will primarily affect new features and optional premium capabilities—existing features and functionality covered under current contracts will continue exactly as they are today. As part of this rollout, we're excited to announce that all current partners will receive 10,000 complimentary credits to explore previously premium features once they become available through self-service activation.
What's Not Changing
Your Current Features: All features you use today will continue working exactly as they do now, with no changes to functionality or pricing.
Your Current Contract: Your existing contract will continue as is. Any features you currently use and pay for, including add-ons, will continue under your current contract terms until renewal.
New Self-Service Access to Premium Features
Immediate Access: You'll be able to enable previously premium features (like in-app calling and additional phone numbers for texting and calling) directly through Settings.
Free Credits: Every institution will receive 10,000 complimentary credits to use for any usage-based feature.
Usage-Based Billing Model
How It Works: Features will be metered and billed based on actual usage, giving you complete control over resource allocation. Through a new settings page, administrators can track credits, monitor usage, enable or disable features, purchase additional credits, and view detailed analytics.
Existing Features: Premium features that were previously purchased as contract add-ons will now be available via usage-based pricing to all partners.
Future Features: We're committed to continuously adding value to our platform with each new release. Many new features will be included at no additional cost, but some premium features will come with usage-based pricing. This allows us to keep the base platform price stable while giving you the flexibility to invest in features that provide value to your organization without paying for those you don't need.
When new features are introduced, we'll provide clear details on any associated usage costs. For example, our AI Fraudulent App Detection feature, which is currently available in free preview, will transition to usage-based pricing starting May 1, 2025, at a cost of 50 credits per application.
New contracts and renewals will use the usage-based model. An initial credit allotment will be allocated based on the contract terms, allowing administrators to purchase additional credits as needed.
Coming Soon: New AI-Powered Features
As we transition to usage-based billing, we're expanding our AI capabilities. Along with our existing AI Fraudulent App Detection feature, we're excited to announce three new AI-powered tools. Release notes for these features will be shared soon.
Campaign AI Blocks: Will enable true one-to-one email personalization using an AI text prompt to generate unique content for each recipient at send time.
AI Workflow Evaluations: Will enable AI-powered text generation within the "Set User's Property" and "Set User's Custom Property" workflow actions, allowing you to use AI prompts to generate values for text fields dynamically.
Advanced Voice Mode: Enable Bolt AI Student Assistants to conduct natural voice conversations with students through Messenger and Phone channels, providing 24/7 support for inbound and outbound communications.
This transition allows us to continue delivering high-value, AI-driven capabilities. Customers gain greater flexibility and control, with the ability to enable new features as needed and only pay for what they use. By aligning feature access with usage, institutions can optimize their costs while unlocking cutting-edge innovations that enhance student engagement, streamline operations, and improve decision-making.
