📆 To Be Released: Wednesday, January 28, 2026

Overview Header

Starting Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Element451 is updating how Bolt Agents access custom field data within Jobs.

Previously, agents could automatically view all custom fields associated with a student record while working on a Job. To improve data privacy and ensure institutions have greater control over what agents see, this behavior is changing.

Moving forward, agents will only be able to view custom field data that has been explicitly granted through the User Data Access skill within the agent’s permissions settings. This change helps ensure that sensitive or internal-use data is not unintentionally exposed in student-facing interactions.

Details Header
  • Restricted custom field access: Bolt Agents will no longer see all custom fields by default.

  • Explicit permissions required: Admins must use the User Data Access skill to grant access to specific custom fields.

  • Updated permission workflow: Custom field visibility is now controlled via Settings > Permissions on the individual Agent once the skill is enabled.

  • Agent-specific configuration: Admins must update each relevant Agent’s permissions individually to ensure proper access.

Benefit Header

This update provides admins with tighter control over sensitive student data, reducing the risk of unintentional sharing during student interactions and aligning access with institutional policies.
