Overview Header

We’ve released improvements to how school email addresses are handled across imports, authentication, and public forms. This update introduces smarter cross-matching during data imports to prevent duplicate user records, tightens restrictions on matching field updates, and adds safeguards against unintended email updates from public forms. Together, these changes improve data integrity, security, and reliability when working with school email identities.

Details Header
  • Added school email cross-matching so imports that are matching on user-email-address will find and update an existing contact with a matching user-identities-school-email value rather than creating a duplicate contact and vice versa

  • Restricted updates to matching fields so that an import can no longer overwrite the field that was used to match an existing user record.

  • Fixed forgot password behavior for users without a primary email address by automatically saving the email identity as the primary email before sending the reset link.

  • Implemented additional protections on public forms to prevent unintended updates to email addresses, including stricter handling for forms that don’t typically collect email information (such as application submission forms).

Benefit Header

These enhancements reduce duplicate records, protect critical identity fields from accidental updates, ensure a smoother password recovery experience, and add safeguards around email data—resulting in more accurate user data and a more secure platform overall.
