Admins can now start a new application on behalf of a student directly from the student's profile. The Applications profile card includes a new Start New Application button that logs you into your application site as the student, even if the student has never created an account or started an application before.
Until now, the Login as User option was only available on existing applications, so starting a brand-new application for a student required a data import. With this update, your team can begin applications for late additions, paper applicants, or students deferring to a future term in just a few clicks.
Start New Application button: Appears in the header of the Applications profile card for internal users with the Login to Application permission; this is the same permission that controls Login as User. The button is available even when the contact has no existing applications and shows the student's name as subtext so it is always clear whose application you are starting.
Application site picker: If your school has more than one application site, a modal asks which site to use before continuing.
First-time access handled automatically: If the student has never registered on the selected site, the flow handles account creation as part of login, so you can start the application right away. Previously, impersonation was only possible per existing application.
Standard notifications: The student receives your standard "application started" autoresponder when configured, exactly as if they had started the application themselves.
Admissions teams no longer need data imports or technical help to push a student into the application process. Late additions, paper applicants, and term deferrals can now be handled directly from the profile in a few clicks, and staff can troubleshoot a student's application experience without waiting for the student to register first.
