Overview
The steps below outline the process for manually unsubscribing a person from email and SMS subscriptions.
Here are a few things to note about unsubscribing:
A person can self-unsubscribe from email by clicking the unsubscribe button in the footer of a message.
A person can self-unsubscribe from SMS by replying to a message with the word STOP.
When a person unsubscribes from email or SMS, the 'Unsubscribe' Milestone is added to their profile. To learn more about Milestones, click here.

Manual Unsubscribe by Internal User
Option 1: Call-to-Action Button
You can add an unsubscribe call-to-action button to the header of a profile template. To learn how to configure a CTA button, review this article.
Option 2: Person Data Card
Navigate to Contacts > People or use the search bar in the top right corner to search the student's name.
Click on their name to open the profile.
Locate the Person Data card and click the arrow to expand the Bolt Sheet.
Under Contact, click the blue Unsubscribe button.
Check the box next to the channel or channels from which you want to unsubscribe the user.
Click Save.
Option 3: Manually Add a Milestone
Navigate to Contacts > People or use the search bar in the top right corner to search the student's name.
Click on the student who is requesting unsubscribe to open their profile.
In the contact info section of the profile, locate the phone number or email address that needs to be unsubscribed and copy it.
Next, locate the Milestones card on the profile. If you have trouble finding it, you can use the search profile feature to find it.
Click the plus sign on the Milestones card to add a new Milestone.
Complete the required fields and click save when you're finished.
π Note: It is best practice to add a label to the person's profile in addition to unsubscribing them from email/SMS.
