Organization Settings

Learn how to create and manage labels and types to customize organization profiles.

Overview

Like other modules in Element451, organization profiles offer settings for customization. Organization Settings includes configurations for Organization Labels and Organization Types. The Administer Organizations permission is required to access these settings.

Accessing Organization Settings

  1. Navigate to Contacts > Organizations.

  2. Click the three vertical dots in the right corner of the header.

  3. Select Organization Settings.


Organization Labels

Like labels for contact records, organization labels can be used to tag, categorize, and group Organizations. While the concepts of Organization Labels are similar to those of People Labels, the labels themselves are distinct and separate. Organizations can have multiple labels.

Adding a New Organization Label

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the right corner of the header.

  2. Select Organization Settings.

  3. In the Labels section, click on the plus (+) sign icon.

  4. Name your label, select a color, and update the slug (if desired).

  5. Click Save.

Editing an Existing Organization Label

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the right corner of the header.

  2. Select Organization Settings.

  3. In the list of labels, find the label you wish to edit.

  4. Click directly on the name, color, or slug to edit.

Deleting an Existing Organization Label

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the right corner of the header.

  2. Select Organization Settings.

  3. In the list of labels, find the label you wish to delete.

  4. Click the three vertical dots at the end of the label's row and click Delete.


Organization Types

Customizable Organization Types allow you to categorize your organizations further. The options for how you choose to group your organizations are endless (e.g., athletic teams, churches, dioceses, denominational conferences, professional organizations, community-based organizations, corporations, feeder schools, etc.).

While tracking feeder schools is an advantageous use case and one E451 fully supports, we recommend creating these records on an as-needed basis and not recreating the entirety of the CEEB code list in the Organizations module.

Adding a New Organization Type

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the right corner of the header.

  2. Select Organization Settings.

  3. In the Types section, click on the plus (+) sign icon.

  4. Name your Type and select an icon.

  5. Click Save.

Editing an Existing Organization Type

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the right corner of the header.

  2. Select Organization Settings.

  3. In the list of types, find the type you wish to edit.

  4. Click directly on the name or icon to edit.

Deleting an Existing Organization Type

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the right corner of the header.

  2. Select Organization Settings.

  3. In the list of types, find the type you wish to delete.

  4. Click the three vertical dots at the end of the type's row and click Delete.
