Using Forms for Non-Student Profiles

Most commonly, forms are used to collect or update student data, like in the case of a Request for Information(RFI) form. Forms default to create student profiles.

What if you want to gather information on other profile types and create forms for agents, guidance counselors, parents, employers, or CBO representatives?

This is easy to do:

  1. Create a new form or pick one to edit.

  2. Add the Profile Type field.
Pro Tip: Always put this field on the main form, never the follow-up form, this way even if the user drops off and does not complete the follow-up, the Profile Type is still captured.

  3. Make sure the field is set to Hidden. This way, the user completing the form can't change this value.

  4. Set the profile type you want to use for this form in Default Value.

  5. Configure the rest of your form and embed it in an Element451 landing page or website.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: You'll need a separate form for each profile type, as a single form can only have one default Profile Type.

πŸ’‘ Another Pro Tip: This technique also works for Event forms, allowing you to setup parent, counselor or other events.
