Released: February 26, 2026

Overview Header

We have expanded authentication and email verification capabilities across additional areas of the platform, building on the January 2026 Email Verification for Form Submissions release.

This update introduces a Unified Login experience across Application Sites, Event Sites, Appointment Booking Sites, and StudentHub, creating a consistent sign-in experience across all forward-facing platforms.

Institutions can offer Element username and password, Institutional SSO, Google authentication, and Magic Link login, with full control over which methods are enabled.

In addition, Event Registration and Appointment Booking now include optionally configurable Require Login and Email Verification settings. These options allow institutions to control whether users must authenticate or verify email ownership before completing a registration or booking, helping improve identity validation and data accuracy.

  • Optional Require Login setting for events and appointment bookings to restrict registrations and scheduling to users with an existing Element account

  • Optional Email Verification setting for events and appointments requiring users to verify ownership of their email before completing registration or booking

  • Event-level authentication configuration allowing different login or verification rules per individual event

  • Flexible appointment booking authentication settings configurable at the Appointment Type level and adjustable per availability for greater control

  • Improved duplicate prevention and update prevention in shared-email scenarios by requiring verification before modifying existing records

These updates provide stronger validation across events and appointments while giving institutions greater control over authentication requirements. By reducing duplicate records and preventing shared-email conflicts, these enhancements improve data accuracy, protects existing records, and ensures a more reliable and consistent user experience.
