Task Permissions Updates | March 2026

Giving admins more granular control over permissions for Tasks.

Written by Eric Range
Updated today

Released: March 12, 2026

Overview Header

We've updated Task permissions to provide more granular control over how access is assigned across Internal and Contact (Student) Tasks. This update introduces clearer separation between view, edit, and delete access, adds new permission options for users’ own Tasks and their team’s Tasks, and changes how delete access is granted for Internal Tasks.

This release updates the Edit Tasks permission. The ability to delete tasks has been removed from this permission and is now controlled by a separate Delete Tasks permission.

Administrators should review their permission groups and enable the Delete Tasks permission for users who should retain the ability to delete tasks.

Benefit Header

These changes make Task permission assignment more precise and easier to manage. By separating delete access from edit access and introducing All, My, and My Team permission levels, administrators can align access more closely to each user’s role and responsibilities. This helps reduce unnecessary broad access, lowers the risk of unintended changes, and provides greater flexibility when configuring permissions across different teams and workflows.

This is the first in a series of updates coming over the next few months around more granular permissions in Element451.
