Released: April 8, 2026
We have updated the email notification behavior for Import and Export job failures by removing the fallback notification that was previously sent to the task creator. This fallback was introduced in late March to ensure visibility into job errors, but feedback indicated it was generating unnecessary noise for authors who may not be involved in day-to-day management of these tasks.
With this change, email notifications for Import and Export errors are now only sent to recipients explicitly configured within the job notification settings. This ensures that alerts are delivered to the appropriate audience without unintended or redundant notifications.
Removed fallback email that automatically notified the Import/Export task creator on job failure
Notification targeting updated to send emails only to users configured in Import or Export job notification settings
Reduced notification noise by eliminating unintended recipients from error alerts
Only notify on failure toggle provides a balance between reducing email volume (by skipping notifications for successful runs) and ensuring the appropriate users are alerted when a job fails
Aligned behavior with user expectations for controlled and intentional notification delivery
This update improves notification relevance by ensuring that only designated recipients receive Import and Export error alerts. It reduces unnecessary email noise for users who are not directly responsible for monitoring these jobs, while providing better control over who is notified, leading to a more focused and manageable alerting experience.
