New and Enhanced Features

This release delivers an expansion of granular permissions across Events. The previous Events permission model relied on a small set of all-or-nothing access grants that forced admins to either over-permission staff or block them from Events entirely. These have been replaced with a flexible, role-appropriate permission structure covering event creation, editing, publishing, attendee management, and deletion — each with All / My / My Team scoping.

Previously, student-facing authentication was controlled by a single global setting — enabling or disabling a login method like Element Password, School SSO, Google login, or Magic Link applied it uniformly across every student-facing web application in Element451. This created a difficult tradeoff for institutions that wanted to enforce School SSO for enrolled students in some apps while still allowing applicants or prospective students to create accounts using a lighter-weight method like Magic Link or Element Password for creating applications. That tradeoff no longer exists. Admins can now configure authentication methods independently for each student-facing web app, without affecting global settings or other applications.

We delivered a set of targeted UX improvements to the Application Portal designed to reduce duplicate accounts, protect applicant identity data against accidental sharing (such as when a family uses a shared email address), and give admitted and deposited students a clearer, more appropriate experience through new dedicated greeting messages.

Custom Skills for Bolt Agents is now available open beta for every institution with Bolt Agents, no opt-in required. Until now, agents ran on a fixed library of Element-built skills, and your control was deciding which ones to turn on. This release opens that layer up. You can now build your own skills that teach agents how to handle the scenarios specific to your institution, what to do, when to do it, and which actions to take, across every channel and conversation mode Bolt supports.

This update expands the Element451 Snowflake data share with five additional raw data tables, making more partner-facing data available for reporting, analysis, and downstream modeling. The new tables follow the existing Snowflake sharing pattern used for prior data share expansions, so they appear in the same shared schema your team already queries. No new connection setup is required; the tables are now available within the schema you are already configured to access.

Case Management is now in Open Beta for all partners on the Student Success package. It is Element451's native student success module for catching risk signals early and managing the follow-through to resolve them, built around two connected features: Alerts and Cases.

Fixes and Improvements

Applications + Decisions

  • Improved

    • Added configurable "Deposited" and "Withdrawn" greeting messages to the application portal dashboard, allowing administrators to customize the title, subtitle, and message text displayed to students after depositing or withdrawing.

    • Redesigned the Withdraw Application experience, replacing the prominent top-level button with a discreet text link below Next Steps to reduce accidental withdrawals.

    • Added returning-applicant nudges to the application dashboard, prominently displaying existing in-progress and submitted applications to reduce duplicate submissions.

    • Added sign-in prompts to the application registration flow for applicants with existing accounts, reducing duplicate account creation.

    • Updated the "Start New Application" modal for authenticated users with improved guidance and a streamlined layout.

    • Applicant name fields are now locked after account creation, preventing identity changes that could cause data conflicts.

    • Added CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) as a supported test score type, enabling institutions to record and evaluate CLEP exam results on student profiles.

    • Added a first-time password creation flow for imported applicants, allowing students imported through Common App or other external sources to set a password after verifying their identity.

    • Added the ability to clone Supplemental Forms and Request Information Forms, allowing administrators to duplicate existing forms instead of recreating them from scratch.

    • Added ACCUPLACER ESL as a supported evaluation type, enabling institutions to capture ESL reading, sentence meaning, language use, listening, and writing scores.

  • Fixed

    • Resolved an issue where supplemental forms displayed an error when loading.

    • Resolved an issue where form field requirements were not registering as complete when a default value was pre-selected, requiring users to manually interact with the field before the requirement was satisfied.

    • Resolved an issue where saving a payment rule on an application returned a validation error when using segment-based conditions.

    • Resolved an issue where the grouped name field in applications did not display First Name and Last Name as locked when a signed-in applicant's profile data was pre-filled.

    • Resolved an issue where an application payment was processed successfully but the application failed to submit, showing an error screen to the student.

    • Resolved an issue where manually uploading a document in Decisions did not reflect the selected document type as the document title.

    • Resolved an issue where the Composite Score subfield was not available for newly added test types in a custom data source.

    • Resolved an issue where the team availability list was not displaying on the Appointments page.

Bolt Agents for Students

    • Unified the Bolt agent Skills tab to display both native and custom skills in a single management view.

    • Added Contact Assignee as an available assignment option in the Custom Skills task tool, allowing skills to route tasks directly to the student's assigned contact.

    • Added identity verification for anonymous users interacting with Custom Skills, ensuring visitors authenticate before the agent executes sensitive actions like creating tasks or enrolling in workflows.

    • Aligned skill ordering and layout between the Agent Test Console and the skills management page, providing a consistent experience when configuring skill priorities.

    • Improved the Agent Test Console layout on smaller screens, preventing the settings panel from obscuring the conversation window.

  • Fixed

    • Resolved an issue where the agent confirmed a workflow enrollment to the student even when the configured workflow was inactive.

    • Resolved an issue where the Add Label skill reported success even when the configured label no longer existed, giving students inaccurate confirmation.

    • Resolved an issue where the voice agent incorrectly reported no availability for "tomorrow" when appointment slots existed, pushing bookings further out than necessary.

    • Resolved an issue where the voice agent confirmed an appointment booking without persisting the appointment record in the scheduling system.

    • Resolved an issue where the Schedule Appointment skill failed to confirm bookings and dropped the voice agent into an infinite loop, re-asking the caller for previously collected information.

    • Resolved an issue where the agent failed to create tasks when using Custom Skills.

    • Resolved an issue where Custom Skill tool calls did not execute during phone conversations.

    • Resolved an issue where follow-up tasks created by the agent for guest users had no linked contact, producing orphaned tasks that staff could not action.

    • Resolved an issue where a Bolt Agent lost conversation context when a student replied with brief affirmations like "yes" or "OK," causing the agent to confuse event registration with appointment booking.

    • Resolved an issue where inbound SMS conversations re-routed between assistants mid-skill, causing conflicting responses about event availability and registration.
