Overview

This guide walks you through the StudentHub Settings, where you can customize and optimize your institution's StudentHub experience. You'll learn how to access key configurations, including external domain configuration, feature set customization, and more. Let's explore how to configure your StudentHub:

Accessing StudentHub Settings

To access your StudentHub settings, navigate to Engagement > StudentHub.

StudentHub Settings Explained

Title

In the general section, you can customize the Title field. This title appears in two specific locations. Use the collapsable sections below to read more:

Welcome Screen Greeting

When first accessing your StudentHub, before logging in, a system greeting message is displayed that includes your title:

Welcome to the [institution-name] [title].

For example, at Element University, if we used the title Launch Pad, our welcome screen would read:

Welcome to the Element University Launch Pad!

The title text is the only part of the system greeting that can be customized.

App Title (Appears with Icon)

When the StudentHub is added to a device, the app title will be pre-populated using the name you add here.

Element Messenger

Use this toggle to enable or disable the live chat messenger and Bolt AI Student Assistants in StudentHub.

Domains

The domains setting section in your StudentHub settings will only appear if you have uploaded a square logo. If you see a banner at the top of the page prompting you to add a square logo, complete that task first. This step ensures proper functionality of the Progressive Web App (PWA). Without a square logo in place before app installation, changes to the logo won’t automatically update in the app unless users delete and reinstall it.

  • Primary Domain: Element451 automatically assigns Your StudentHub two primary domains, which can not be edited. They will look something like this: elementuniversity.campushub.ai and elementuniversity.portal451.io. You can use either one.

  • External Domain: While the primary domain URLs are functional, they don't share the same institutional brand identity and trust as a URL ending in .edu. To that end, you can configure an external domain to mask or hide the primary domain and use a URL ending in your school name or abbreviation. You'll likely need to work with your IT or website team for this process. To explore configuring external domains more, click here.

StudentHub Branding

StudentHub uses your existing branding settings from Element451. If you notice something that doesn't look right, ensure your logos, colors, and other brand elements are updated in General Settings > Branding.

Troubleshooting

“I updated my square logo, but the app doesn’t reflect the update.”

If you’ve updated your square logo but the app isn’t showing the change, it’s likely due to the Progressive Web App (PWA) caching process. PWAs don’t automatically update the logo after app installation. To see the updated logo, users must delete and reinstall the app.

Testing StudentHub

As you configure your settings—and periodically once your StudentHub is live—it’s crucial to test and experience it from a student’s perspective. This helps ensure everything works as expected and looks great.

How to Test Your StudentHub

  1. Create a test student user account through the app registration process.

  2. Navigate to your Studenthub URL on your mobile phone, tablet, or computer.

    • While we recommend testing on a mobile phone for the most accurate experience, you can also use your desktop computer to view and test.

  3. Log in using the test credentials to explore the student experience. You can register for an event, schedule an appointment, etc., to experience the powerful functionality that StudentHub offers.

Once satisfied with your setup, take screenshots and create a user guide to help your students adopt and take complete advantage of your StudentHub!

StudentHub is available exclusively to Partners on the Engage plan.
